Robert "Bob" Reynolds
Although it sounds like a cliché, I fell in love with the Fire Service watching “Emergency” when I was a kid. However, my parents had other plans, as I was going to be the first person in the family to go to college. Fast forward a few years, I found the opportunity to become an EMT-B then an EMT-I, as well as a Firefighter. When it came time to relocate, I specifically moved to a town that had a part-time fire department that I was accepted onto.
Throughout the next 21 years I spent time training new Cadets, developing programs and continued my career up the rungs advancing to the rank of Lieutenant for my last 10 years. Our department went from one manned station when I started to staffing all four 24 hours a day. We continued to grow and contract EMS actually moved into all of our stations, operating separately, but we quickly developed a working relationship responding on certain calls together to provide critical Fire and EMS services to our citizens. My last year, we responded to nearly 3000 fire calls and over 5000 EMS calls.
Five years in the making, my wife and I finally moved to Divide two years ago. I then secured a job at the Teller County Sheriff’s office as a 911 Dispatcher. Last summer when we had the Highland Lakes Fire, I observed an incredible response from Divide Fire as well as all of the other departments in the area and then some. I was quite impressed, and when I heard about this opportunity to possibly serve on the board, I felt the need to get involved. Thus, I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to serve as a board member for the Divide Fire Protection District.
Sincerely,
Bob Reynolds
